Recall of Ground Beef Products Due to E. coli O157:H7 contamination

 

J & B Meats Corporation Inc., a Coal Valley, IL establishment has initiated a voluntary recall of 173,554 pounds of frozen ground beef products because they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.  The recalled beef products were sold in the U.S. and include packages as described in the attached USDA notice.  Each package bears the establishment number “EST 5712” inside the USDA mark of inspection and includes products that were produced on June 12, June 18, and June 22, 2007 and distributed to retail establishments nationwide.

Cargill Meat Solutions Corp. Recalling Frozen Ground Beef Patties     

 

Cargill Meat Solutions Corporation is recalling 845,000 pounds of frozen ground beef patties produced at its Butler Wisconsin plant because of possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination.  The recall was initiated as a result of an investigation conducted by the state of Minnesota involving three cases of illness. The frozen patties were produced on various dates from August 9 through August 17, 2007 and were distributed to retail establishments, restaurants, and institutions nationwide.  Each package of the recalled frozen ground beef patties bears the establishment number “EST. 924A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
